Snow Boots

This is the new version of the Alaska Teacher Placement (ATP) forum for teachers, education majors, and school administrators to discuss working and living in the state of Alaska. Those considering an Alaskan job, or considering a new Alaskan education job ask questions, and those with information and/or opinions provide answers. Although many users are teacher or principal candidates from the Lower 48, a large number of current and former school district HR and school administrators subscribe.

Snow Boots

Postby brittanytaraba » Thu Aug 01, 2019 6:38 pm

I've lived in Alaska for a year now. I have Muck Boot snow boots that do a great job keeping my feet warm and dry. My issue is that it is still common for me to "punch through" the snow when walking to school, even following in my roommie's prints where she didn't go through. When I asked a friend about this issue, they said maybe it was because my boots weren't "wide" enough to displace enough snow.

So my question is: What brand/make of boots do you swear by for walking in deep snow?

**I've asked multiple people in the village, and everyone has a different thing they swear by!
