Administrative positions

This is the new version of the Alaska Teacher Placement (ATP) forum for teachers, education majors, and school administrators to discuss working and living in the state of Alaska. Those considering an Alaskan job, or considering a new Alaskan education job ask questions, and those with information and/or opinions provide answers. Although many users are teacher or principal candidates from the Lower 48, a large number of current and former school district HR and school administrators subscribe.

Curious...do administrative positions become available very often in the Bush?

Hello,

Yes, and known admin jobs are usually (but not always) posted on ATP's site earlier than teacher openings. You will start to see principal and district admin jobs for the 2019-20 school year posted in January, I'd suspect. Of course, ATP is the official clearinghouse in Alaska for teacher and school administration jobs, but you have to create an account to put your resume and other supporting documentation into the system:

ATP Main Website & Job Database Entrance
http://www.alaskateacher.org/

You can search for jobs anytime here, and narrow it down to Admin positions with the appropriate Category selection:

ATP Applitrack Database Job System
http://www.alaskateacher.org/jobs/

For example, here is the Category "Administration" showing 13 current admin jobs posted:

Hope this helps,

John
