I attended the Minneapolis Fair and here's some of the questions I was asked...
1. How would you describe your style of teaching?
2. How would you describe classroom management and discipline?
3. What does a typical classroom lesson look like?
4. If I were to observe you, what would I see?
5. How do you know when the lesson was successful?
6. List some of your strengths as a teacher.
7 Do you have any weaknesses?
8. Why Alaska?
9. How would a co-worker describe you?
10. What would you do if you disagreed with the Principal of the building?
11. How serious are you about this job?
12. Would you be willing to work extra duties?
13. What are your housing requirements?
14. Describe your experience with multiculturalism?
15. How would you encourage parents to be involved in education?
16. Name one teacher that had a positive or negative influence on your teaching. Describe why its negative or positive.
17. Can you lift ____ lbs. ?
18. What kind of assessments do you use in the classroom?
19. When do you get the Principal involved in your classroom?
20. How would you get the community involved with the school and in your classroom?
Some of these questions were asked by several districts. Over the course of the job fair, I felt like I was repeating myself over and over.
Be prepared to talk about any ESL experiences. Use the teaching lingo.
