Bush Pilots

This is the new version of the Alaska Teacher Placement (ATP) forum for teachers, education majors, and school administrators to discuss working and living in the state of Alaska. Those considering an Alaskan job, or considering a new Alaskan education job ask questions, and those with information and/or opinions provide answers. Although many users are teacher or principal candidates from the Lower 48, a large number of current and former school district HR and school administrators subscribe.

Bush Pilots

My questions are not directly related to teaching but are somewhat relevant. My husband is a South Korean national and has a Korean LSA pilots license (Light Sport Aircraft) and we are exploring piloting as an option for his employment (that is, if I get employed as a teacher for 2015.) From the research we are gathering, it appears he would need a PPL license minimum.

We are currently researching flight schools in Alaska and the possibility of investing in a plane. If anyone has any links to reputable people who know about flying, who are pilots themselves or who have any general info regarding flying, this info would be greatly appreciated.
